Magnolia takes 'Waltz' for any swing

'Take This Waltz'Magnolia Pictures has acquired U.S. privileges to Sarah Polley's "Take This Waltz," which opened recently in the Toronto Intl. Film Festival. Magnolia stated it'll release "Waltz," which Polley has written, directed and created, at the begining of summer time. Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Luke Kirby and Sarah Silverman star in "Waltz," concentrating on a youthful lady -- described by Williams -- battling to choose from a husband that they loves and the other guy that they has fallen passionately deeply in love with. Magnolia introduced the offer Monday with TF1 Worldwide. It intends to release the pic theatrically in most major U.S. marketplaces, carrying out a "prominent" film festival presence in regional fests. Magnolia will even release "Waltz" through its Ultra VOD program. "Waltz" may be the 4th TIFF title acquired by Magnolia. Additionally, it acquired US privileges to backwoods drama "The Hunter" and Michael Dowse's hockey comedy "Goon" together with worldwide privileges to Bobcat Goldthwait's "God Bless America" because of its genre arm, Magnet. Deal for "Waltz" was discussed for Magnolia by senior Vice president of Purchases Dori Begley and mind of legal and business matters Chris Matson, with Gregory Chambet of TF1 Intl.
